How It Works

How do you turn your high quality, pre-owned home furnishings and accessories into cash? Easy! In order to have your items approved for consignment, simply bring in or email pictures of the items you are interested in consigning. Upon approval, your items may be placed in our showroom for a period of 90 days, and the store’s knowledgeable, professional staff will sell them for you. The Finer Consigner offers a well-displayed retail environment that will allow maximum exposure to buyers. Consignment is a great alternative to the typical methods available for selling pre-owned items. It eliminates your cost of classified advertising, taking calls, and strangers bargaining in your home. We advertise for you in local area publications.

How Much Does It Cost?
There is no initial cost to bring your items into the showroom for sale. Upon the sale of your item, we split the proceeds 50/50. Items that are desirable and priced right will sell! In the event your items have not sold at the end of the 90-day term of contract, items may be picked up or you can elect to have them donated. Unsold items must be reclaimed within 5 days of contract expiration. There is no charge if items do not sell.

Who sets the price?
This is important. Priced too high…the item won’t sell. Priced to low…it’s unfair to the consigner. We price to sell, and our experience helps us price fairly for both buyer and seller. Items must be in excellent condition and currently marketable.

Payment?
Due to a large consigner base, we are unable to contact individual consigners when inventory sells. Please feel free to call or come in on a regular basis to see if your items have sold. We will be ready to write you a check at the store, just call and let us know, as checks are not mailed.

Delivery?
If you are unable to transport your items to or from the store, there are several outstanding moving groups available in the area. We suggest contacting Kellogg Movers at 801-253-7941 or Unique Deliveries at 801-913-7890 for an estimate. Also, Mike at 801-842-8149 has a truck and equipment intended for one-man moving needs.
